Critical Illness Insurance
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is it?
This is an insurance policy that pays a lump sum upon diagnosis of a critical illness (such as a heart attack, cancer or stroke*).

Why would you need it?
What would be the impact on you if you were to be diagnosed with a critical illness?  Would you still be able to earn an income?

What impact could it have on your family?  Would your partner have to leave their job to help care for you?

A critical illness policy could remove your financial concerns and allow you to concentrate on getting better.

Options
Critical Illness insurance is often included within a life assurance policy to provide comprehensive cover under one plan.

* The precise definition of what is accepted as a critical illness can vary from policy to policy

Oakmeade Financial Services is an Appointed Representative of Mortgage Intelligence Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your mortgage.  Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. You may prefer to pay a fee for mortgage advice. If so the amount charged would depend on your circumstances but would not exceed 1% of the mortgage balance. Buy to Let mortgages are not regulated by the FSA.
